Greetings:

As President & Founder of Harlem Jazz Foundation, Inc., I am proud to work with the Boards of Directors & Advisors and the invaluable. HJf Friends Committee. As we journey and continue to grow at this time in our history the supporting and governing bodies are looking forward to directing HJF and its programs and projects into the 21st Century. Our primary objective for the next twelve months include: ongoing board development, strategic planning, accessing the overall structure of the institution and its mission to insure that the needs of the present and future are met. The Board realizes the stringent demands that are being placed on not-for and non-profit organizations during what seems to be a difficult financial time, especially for those organizations that are arts/culture and music related. We hope to serve as a model in the presentation of the national American treasure called Jazz. As we embark upon our future a major priority is that we develop a cohesive capital campaign. We anticipate hiring an experienced development director who will work closely with the Board and volunteer friends to maximize our human and financial resources. One of our key strategy issues is to broaden the exposure and recognition Harlem Jazz Foundation, Inc. and www.harlemjazz.org receives for its programs and innovations in Jazz Education, technology and performance presentation. We are proud to have the commitment of many world class/renown musicians who are educators an mentors, and to be sought after by other organizations to bring our classroom programs to various learning institutions both private and public. In addressing our purpose and image, the Board of Directors has charged itself with developing an aggressive public relations campaign via the World Wide Web, other forms of electronic media: a newsletter called JazzJam 2000, along with other marketing strategies that will encourage and develop interest in individual and corporate membership packages as we insure that the community at large properly recognizes programs that have been created and developed by Harlem Jazz Foundation, Inc. Our sincere thanks and appreciation to all of our supporters who have committed to Harlem Jazz Foundation Inc's.
